Most solar water heaters are manufactured with black or painted sheet metal, materials that corrode and have a short life span, especially in areas close to the sea. The MEGASUN storage tank has an exterior polygonal casing made from anodized aluminium, which is extremely durable to ultraviolet rays, in humid climates, and in coastal areas.

The advanced design of the sealed jacket around the storage tank in the closed system of the MEGASUN Solar Water Heater guarantees the operation of the system in freezing conditions, and also secures the collectors against corrosion and from interior clogging.

The strong polyurethane insulation with 50mm thickness and high density (40 Kg/m³) guarantees the consumer more hot water for use even when the temperature outside is -30ºC.

The metallic storage tank of MEGASUN is 2,5mm thick and is made according to DIN 4800‑5. That means the tank is twice as resistant to high-pressure water supply networks as most ordinary solar water heaters.

Automatic metal-blasting process of 6phase for the interior cleaning of the tank. Interior protection of the water tank with double “direct” glass enamelling baked at 850°C. The tank has a long life span, even in waters with high salinity content. Tank is also equipped with a magnesium rod for additional protection.

The MEGASUN tank is equipped with an electric resistance with thermostat which can be activated during cloudy days when there is no sufficient sunshine. The electrical resistance of the MEGASUN units can be fitted with a tube exchanger (upon request) which can be connected to the central heating system achieving even more energy saving.

Μοst solar collectors due to flaws in their design do not have air holes and moisture is accumulated in the interior of the collector due to difference in temperatures especially in wet climates, resulting to the corrosion of the absorber. The MEGASUN collector has air holes which allow the collector to breath and the profile of the MEGASUN collector is designed in such a way so as to keep the air holes completely water tight protecting them from raining water.

The collector MEGASUN is composed of one single absorber sheet with high selective titanium blue treatment. The absorber is ultrasonic welded (with a continuous welding seam) onto copper tubes. With this unique method the heat transfer is achieved completely resulting to the MEGASUN collector to be most efficient.

The selective titanium Blue surface in combination with the Tempered Glass with its specialized crystals, minimize the reflection of the direct sun rays ensuring the high performance of the MEGASUN collector.

The double insulation, 35 mm thick rock wool at the back side and 20 mm thick fibreglass lateral insulation, secure the high performance and minimize the heat losses from the MEGASUN collector.

The MEGASUN collector has a TEMPERED GLASS (4mm thick), to withstand hale and prevent any accidents.

The excellent outer design of the unit along with the well designed support base, allow for the easy and adjustable installation of the unit on top of tiled or any other type of roofs. Moreover, the side coverings of the collector protect the connection pipes from the ultraviolet rays and offer at the same time a nice aesthetic look that could be incorporated in every architectural building design.

MEGASUN is manufactured under the strictest international standard specifications and its production is inspected at each production stage. All units have a special identification quality and inspection badge proving they have been inspected to ensure the highest quality.
